Refund Policy

As part of our Tuition & Financial Aid program, students who intend to withdraw from our programs and get a refund should submit the filled-in and signed withdrawal form to the Academic Department. Please check out our withdrawal policy

Refund will be processed in accordance to the Private Career College Act.

In Alberta, Private career colleges can charge fees at different stages of the enrollment process. Students are refunded specific amounts when they leave their licensed program, depending on their withdrawal date.

Section 17 of the Private Vocational Training Regulation in Alberta  specifies the maximum amount of tuition that a private career college can retain when a student contract is terminated.

 

Refund of tuition – after training begins

(1) If a student contract is terminated after the vocational training begins, the licensee is entitled to the following amounts of the tuition fees:

  • when 10% or less of the vocational training has been provided, 25% of the tuition fees;
  • when more than 10% but 50% or less of the vocational training has been provided, 60% of the tuition fees.
  • When more than 50% of the vocational training has been provided, 100% of the tuition fees.

(2) If a licensee has received tuition fees in excess of the amount that the licensee is entitled to under subsection 

  • the licensee must refund the excess amount.

(3) For the purpose of this section, vocational training provided by correspondence is provided as lessons are supplied, marked and returned to the student.

 

Cancelation Of Enrollment Contract

Aquinas College reserved the right to cancel any enrollment of the students who have been absent or inactive (no communication) within the first two weeks of the classes. The students will be charged a registration fee of $500 and prorated tuition fee as per the Student Contract signed by the students (with or without logged attendance)
