Denise Holland

Massage Therapy Instructor

Biography

With over 26 years of service in the field, Denise Holland has evolved from a practitioner to a revered educator, sharing her wealth of knowledge with new Registered Massage Therapists Programย (RMTs).

Ms. Holland’s remarkable career in the realm of massage therapy and osteopathy took root at the prestigious University of Toronto’s Athletics Center and Lyndhurst Hospital, where her focus was on spinal cord injuries.

From the moment she graduated in 1997, Denise was propelled by an innate desire to heal and improve lives, leading her to establish a private practice.

This endeavor was in partnership with her role at St. Anne’s Spa in Grafton, Ontario, where her skills flourished in a serene and nurturing environment.

Driven by a deep-seated passion for addressing chronic pain, Denise embarked on an extensive journey of education and professional development. This journey was marked by her graduation as a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner, among many other advanced training programs. Her innovative approach to pre-surgery preparation, which integrates biotensegrity massage with scar tissue removal, showcases her commitment to leveraging her vast knowledge and experience for the benefit of her clients.

Ms. Holland is deeply committed to teaching to achieve lasting results for her patients, while also emphasizing the importance of self-care to ensure a long and healthy career. Denise’s educational philosophy underscores the significance of differential assessments, palpation skills, and the critical role of client feedback.

Denise’s dedication to mentorship and her innovative spirit led to the creation of the Tensegrity Massage technique. This technique is a testament to her holistic approach to therapy, teaching therapists to perceive and interact with the body’s complex layersโ€”from bone tension and fascia to muscles and the energetic body.

Despite her achievements and contributions to education, Denise remains passionate about hands-on therapy. She continues to work closely with medical and therapy teams, helping individuals emerge from the shadows of chronic pain into light and relief.

Denise Holland’s legacy is not only in the lives she has directly touched through her therapeutic practices but also in the enduring impact she has made on the massage therapy profession. Through her mentorship, innovative techniques, and holistic approach to treatment, Ms. Holland has paved the way for future generations of therapists to thrive and make meaningful contributions to the well-being of their clients.
