Dr. Annaliza Sta Ana is a distinguished Ph.D. graduate in psychology, boasting over 15 years of invaluable experience in the field of academia. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from St. Scholastica’s College.
Subsequently, she pursued further education, earning Master’s units in Guidance and Counseling from De La Salle University. Her dedication and commitment to her studies culminated in a Master of Arts in Psychology, graduating with honors, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, also graduating with distinction, from the University of Santo Tomas. Her pursuit of excellence extended to the realm of clinical psychology, where she obtained certification for continuing professional development from the University of Calgary.
Dr. Sta Ana’s professional journey is a testament to her passion and expertise. She embarked on her career as a Guidance Counselor at De La Salle Lipa, eventually rising to the esteemed position of Department Chair of Psychology.
Relocating to Dubai, she transitioned into the field of Business Psychology before answering her true calling in academia as an Assistant Professor at the American University in the Emirates. Notably, she distinguished herself as one of the few Filipino professors among a cadre of esteemed academicians.
Her exceptional leadership, extensive knowledge, and honed skills paved the way for her to establish the Guidance and Counseling Center at the university, earning her the prestigious role of Director. Additionally, she took the helm of several key committees within the university, including the accreditation committee and curriculum development committee, among others.
Upon her move to Canada, Dr. Sta Ana continued to make significant contributions to the field. She not only taught at Athabasca University but also served as a career counselor at a private vocational college in Calgary. Her inherent leadership qualities and profound academic insights led to her being entrusted with roles as an academic leader, human resource manager, and public relations manager. Her three-plus years of dedicated service at the college resulted in remarkable improvements and progress.
Further demonstrating her capabilities, Dr. Sta Ana was entrusted with the role of Campus Director at another private career college in Calgary, solidifying her reputation as a capable and visionary leader. After seven years in Canada, she now proudly serves as the President of Aquinas College, an institution dedicated to transforming lives through education. Her remarkable journey and unwavering commitment continue to inspire those around her.
